Emily Navat

Emily Navat is a proud Chinese and Filipino American, born and raised in the DMV. Graduating from Towson University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Family and Human Services, Emily became the first in her immediate family to pursue higher education and graduate from college.

Emily is passionate about uplifting the next generation of youth by equipping them with education, youth empowerment, and social emotional learning. She served as Co-Advertising Chair for Towson’s chapter of Students Helping Honduras, a non-profit organization that supports youth through education and youth empowerment. From working with at-risk Baltimore city youth in workforce development programs to teaching kindergarteners literacy and social emotional learning, Emily has shown dedication to equipping students with the tools they need to be successful outside of their classrooms.

Emily currently serves as AALead’s Maryland Youth Facilitation Coordinator. She is excited to be serving youth in Montgomery County by empowering them through education, facilitating a safe space for students to explore their cultural identities, and supporting students to become leaders within their communities.
